The creators have been pushing boundaries by criticizing politicians and highlighting social problems in Afghanistan, including widespread corruption. The popular page has created a platform for Afghans to raise their voices against the problems in their society and express their dissatisfaction over issues affecting their lives, including nepotism, corruption, and insecurity. The page has irritated Afghan authorities who had reportedly summoned several journalists they believed were running the page.

Vavbook is a newly launched online platform aimed at the production of audio books. The creators are calling on publishers, writers, translators, recording studios, narrators and others to connect via the platform and work on the creation of audio books. It is a valuable project for Iran where book reading has been reportedly in decline.

The founder of Mamanpaz, Tabasom Latifi said her project has helped a range of women become active in the society. The project includes everyone from well-off housewives to single mothers taking care of their families. Mamanpaz appears to be growing because of the increasing Internet usage in Iran and also a desire to eat healthy food. It is an example of a successful startup in Iran’s growing startup community.

2nate is an Iranian crowdfunding platform that allows NGOs, charities or anyone with social impact projects to create a campaign and start raising funds with the help of users. 2nate helps raise awareness about social problems while encouraging users to support projects they feel are worthwhile. It is an example of a successful startup created by three young men who are hoping to change the way people are helping each other by encouraging them to become more active.

Investigación arqueológica: prospección cuenca del río Chaquenodá. INER

El Instituto de Estudios Regionales, INER de la Universidad de Antioquia adelanta actualmente el proyecto de investigaciones arqueológicas en Frontino, Antioquia: prospección de la cuenca del río Chaquenodá. Se trata de una nueva fase de estudio que da continuidad y amplía el Programa de Investigaciones Arqueológicas que el INER viene desarrollando desde 2004 en el Occidente de Antioquia. Este proyecto, permitirá aportar información nueva sobre las sociedades precolombinas y del periodo colonial e incluso más reciente, que se establecieron en la región desde hace por lo menos ocho mil años. El proyecto se desarrolla en el área de La Blanquita-Murrí, con apoyo del Instituto de Cultura y Patrimonio de Antioquia y el respaldo de la Alcaldía de Frontino, cuenta con la participación de habitantes de La Blanquita, así como de estudiantes e investigadores del INER.
